Edgar Allan Poe is an American author. He is particularly famous for his tales of mystery and macabre that incarcerated readers around the world. His most classic short stories are

Perry to enroll as a private in the U.S Army on May 26, 1827. By 1829, Poe was promoted to Sergeant Major on January 1, 1829. When poe was twenty, he had a slim volume of verse published, which was about the same time he requested to be discharged from the army. Poe was discharged from the army on April 15, 1829 (source 1 and 2.) After Poe was discharged from the army, he began his journey to West Point. He lived in Baltimore, where he applied to an academy and waited for acceptance , while becoming reacquainted with his family.
