The movie demonstrated that moment really well. Throughout the party, especially in the movie, they were trying to just simply be together, but no matter how hard they tried, nothing would really go their way. They knew they couldn’t publicize their love.
Both of them quickly realized how dangerous pursuing their love would be, but they didn't let that stop them. Feeling sympathetic for them, would be an honest feeling. This is where the idea of fate enters. Perhaps if Romeo wasn’t a Montague, or if Juliet wasn’t a Capulet. There would be no tragic story to be told, if only everything had a happy ending.
