Comparing Romeo In Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet

Romeo is a Montague, rival to the Capulet family. This is terrible because he involves himself with Juliet, who is a Capulet, and they end up getting married. I decided to pick this character to analyze because he was the most interesting to and is a main character from my perspective.Solely, he is not like me at all and is very hard to identify because he has a totally different mind set. In addition, dating him is out of the picture because he is not my type, but on the other hand, his personality and heart are good in the way that he cares for who he dates. In contrast, after reading the whole story my conclusions about him is that he cares too much to the point where he kills himself for a girl, and who would want someone that clingy in …show more content…
He is more of a lover and not a fighter. To be caring means that he displays his concerns for others. While talking to Benvolio Romeo says” Doth add more grief to too much of mine own.” This means since Benvolio feels bad for Romeo feeling sad, made Romeo feel even worse than he did before. He cares for Benvolio and if he is sad, so that makes him feel worse about life. Benvolio just cared for his friend, but he didn’t do too well at it because he made him feel worse.
Romeo is also very clever, especially with the way he got Juliet. Clever means quick to devise ideas. He was clever because he just thought of a pick-up line for Juliet instantly. The words that he said are “My lips, two blushing pilgrims, ready stand/ To smooth that rough touch with a tender kiss.” He saw his beautiful Juliet across the room and wanted to make her his. He thought of a pick-up line on the spot and it was pretty good. As can be seen, he is clever because he can think of a good pick-up line on the spot, when most people most likely

At the Capulet’s party that he went to look for Rosaline, he saw Juliet and fell in love with her by just talking to her once. This means he is fickle. Fickle means changing frequently with affections. He instantly gets over Rosaline, who he was crying about to Juliet within a couple of days. A quote from the text talking about love to Friar Lawrence is “With Rosaline, my ghostly Father? No./I have forgot that name and that name’s woe.” This shows that he got over Rosaline and forgot about her, this shows him being fickle.
From all the information that I have seen and given, I concluded that he is a very impulsive boy. To be impulsive means to do something without forethought. Romeo is very impulsive, an example is “Now, Tybalt, take the “villain” back again/ That late thou gavest me, for Mercutio’s soul”. He is basically saying he wants revenge and kills Tybalt within a couple minutes. He killed him on this impulse because Tybalt just slain Mercutio and Romeo was mad and killed him on an impulse. He should have gotten the officers, so they can handle it and kill

Mercutio is an interesting character. But, a major reason why Mercutio takes part of the blame for the tragedy is his tendency to take risks, or more specifically, the fact that Mercutio decided to partake in a feast held by the Montagues greatest enemy. Although many could argue that this was Benvolio’s idea, it must not be forgotten that Benvolio is the only character in the book that can reason maturely, therefore Benvolio would have eventually changed his mind once he realizes the consequences or risks. But, then there is Mercutio, he openly goes to disregard Romeo’s…

After Mercutio was killed by Tybalt’s hand he lost his calm demeanor and engaged Tybalt in a brawl ending in Tybalt’s death. Romeo forgets about the consequences that will result from him killing Tybalt and ends up getting banished realizing afterwards how this will affect him from being with Juliet and impede him from reaching his happiness this is evident from the quote “ I am fortune’s fool.” Upon hearing from his dedicated servant Balthasar who finds it is in Romeo’s best interest to hear the news of Juliet’s death; it begins to dawn on Romeo that fate has been interfering with him and Juliet being together. Firstly, the harmless nature of Benvolio’s behavior, intended to help and protect those around him, become the catalysts of several undesired results. The simple actions of cheering up a sulking friend caused the entire disaster that is the relationship between Romeo and Juliet. Romeo comes home sulking about Rosaline, and Benvolio insists on going to the Capulet’s party to “examine other beauties” (I,i,1,224) and compare them to Rosaline. Although going to the party achieved the goal of making Romeo forget about Rosaline, it brought about a new love: Juliet. To illustrate this in a more modern fashion, it can be said that Benvolio is in the position of the friend with no love or relationship experience, but is always the one who is turned…

He wants to marry Juliet, almost after half a dozen hours of meeting her, right after Tybalt vowed revenge, a day after the third city brawl between the Capulets and the Montagues, and after the prince 's last warning. He should have waited until the heat and level of danger died down, if he did it would’ve been smoother for him and juliet, and since he didn’t, he led himself to death, as well as Juliet as she is a lady and is not allowed to leave her household other than to go to church. Third is miscommunication. All throughout the play there is miscommunication between characters as they try to express feelings toward one another or send a message but is misinterpreted by the other character, leading to the path that was shown in the play. The First example of this is shown when Mercutio and Benvolio are sitting around a fountain on a hot day and talk about Romeo, misinterpreting his disappearance as sadness for Rosaline, believing that he is Mad and in no shape to fight Tybalt.…
