As explained by Old Capulet to Juliet, she should marry a Capulet instead of the rival enemy, a Montague. By fitting in, she would have to marry Paris since that's who her father approves of. However, Juliet is secretly married to Romeo and refuses to marry Paris. Therefore, her father threatens to disown her. Juliet is standing out from the tradition since she is marrying an enemy. She made her parents furious and she doesn’t do what her parents ask her since she is in love with Romeo and is willing to spend the rest of her life with him. By not following the crowd and standing out from the tradition, Romeo and Juliet are experiencing happiness by being together and could bring the best out of each other.
