“I despised my arrival on this earth and I will despise my departure; it is a tragedy.” A quote from William Shakespeare. For some life experiences begin and end in tragedy, as in Romeo and Juliet they both loved each other but couldn’t be with each other and ended up killing themselves causing a tragedy in their life and to the lives around them. The original Romeo and Juliet story is very different from the long tragedy of the Vietnam War but they both have a catastrophe in their life. Both tragedies’ had a lot of violence involved, similar reasons for fighting, and impacted a lot of people over time.
In Romeo and Juliet someone had died because they were stabbed and in the Vietnam War multiple people died as a result of bombings triggering a lot of violence in lives. There were more than two million people killed in the War; however there were only 6 that died in Romeo and Juliet. It has been noted that in the two tragedies there was a lot of viciousness. In the Vietnam War there were bombs and guns used, but on the other hand in Romeo and Juliet there was more of the medieval and fantasy weapons used such as swords, daggers, and potions.
