Comparing Quary Pigeon And Willow Bridge

The Two Poems “Quary Pigeon” and “Willow Bridge” are very touching.In both poems, the two narrators use similar symbolism to represent death. In the two poems water represents death .Water represents death in the poem “Quary Pigeon” since the narrator is going deep down into water. Narrator is losing confidence and hope as he’s going down into the water. In the poem “Willow Bridge” the narrator and his mother are walking on the willow bridge. While walking above water on bridge the narrator is thinking about the time he has with his mother. The narrator is frightened of losing his “seventy five” year old mother and worried how she’s becoming unsteady. These are some of the symbols used in the poems to represent death.
