Both the Republican and Democratic parties share many similarities that transcend over to how they create and handle legislation. For example, both parties allow the Federal Reserve to operate as an independent government agency allowing them to make our countries monetary decisions without ever having to be scrutinized by either the President or any other elected official of either of the other two branches of government. Both parties are largely backed by special interest and corporate groups who contribute to their campaigns to help them get elected in return for favors later on down the road. They both also love to negotiate by slipping "pork" into legislation in the hopes of getting their agenda passed which in turn keeps their contributors happy.
