Odysseus was on his way home from Troy when a storm redirected him to an island with these plants. These plants were so good to some of the ship mates they ate it constantly. The few were so addicted that they never returned to the ship and stood there supposedly forever. Odysseus got some men out of there and back to the ship. Odysseus and his men end up leaving the island because it was to much. They were able to regain there hope of going home, so they leave and end up at another island….

The god gave them a gift, a bag of winds and as they left the island they open the bag and are sent back to the island of the god of winds. Aeolus the god there cast them out, Odysseus and his men sailed for seven days and arrive in the land of Laestrygonians, a race of cannibals. They destroy all of Odysseus ships but the one he sailed in. He was on the land of Circe’s. She turned half his men into swine for fun. There was one man that was able to escape and tell Odysseus. He goes to confront her and she tries to turn him into a swine to, but he is protected by a magic herb that he had gotten from a god. He ends up sleeping with her to get his men back, but was there for many years. Odysseus was able to leave and Circe gave him information on where he was going and how to protect him and his men.
