The Odyssey by Homer This ancient epic poem by Homer is by far my favorite book of all time. I have always enjoyed reading ancient Greek mythology and I am engrossed in the complex phenomena that they attempt to explain. The Odyssey perfectly combines Greek mythology with a well-constructed storyline and complex themes. The Odyssey also focuses on my favorite character Penelope. She is cunning in the subtlest ways and she is extremely interesting to study. Even something as minor as ascending the stairs was meticulously planned to trick her suitors. Odysseus and Penelope's relationship is interesting as well. Odysseus is cunning in an obvious way while Penelope's tricks are hidden; this makes their relationship thought-provoking. I thoroughly
