They meet many people and killed as well. Odysseus killed the suitors that have been waiting outside Penelope's house to marry her. The suitors want to marry Penelope since they think Odysseus is dead. They have been waiting outside her house for many years, eating all of his food and using his things. He kills them with a bow and arrow when Penelope finally announced she was choosing a new husband. She would marry whoever could strike an arrow through twelve axes. Odysseus is the only person who could do it, so he did and killed all the suitors afterwards. Odysseus also watched all of his men who accompanied him on his journey die. Inman, on the other hand, kills Junior, his "bestfriend" who, according to Inman, feeds human flesh to his family. Inman also watched his friend, Veasay, die. Veasay was a preacher and Inman discovered him trying to kill his pregnant lover. They also arrive in many different places and environments. Some places Odysseus goes to is the Cyclop’s Island, Circe’s Island, The Lotus Eaters, and Calypso’s Island. In The Cyclop’s Island, the Cyclops, also named Polyphemus, eats many of Odysseus’s men, and has them trapped in a cave. They escape by blinding him. In Circe’s Island, Circe turns Odysseus’s men into pigs. In The Lotus Eaters, his men eat the Lotus Eater plant and they loose complete interest in going back home.
