Odysseus and Everett have one common goal. They desire to go home to their families and make sure everything is right again. That is the only purpose of the journey and these two are willing to go through several kinds of problems. The only reason Odysseus goes away from his family is that he was needed in the Trojan War. Everett gets caught for studying law without a license and ends up in jail. Both Odysseus and Everett hear the same news that their families are going to forget them and so they are willing to go home so they are not alone forever. These two go home for their families.
