The message I take with me by listening to his speech is that if we want things to change if we don’t want to see more violence between races, if we don’t want to see more discrimination, if we don’t want to see more people struggling just to get something to eat everyday, then we need to open our eyes and see clearly that the problem is not with a specific race or the “special” treatment other race get, the problem is that people with a lot of power puts us on situations like this so that they can live out of our expenses . I think that it very important that people need to realize that the current system is only there to help a few lucky ones and the other struggle.

I noticed he used the problem and solution one, because the first part of his speech he presented us with the struggles that brown people go thru every day and how it is influenced by the society that we as citizens have built, he too explained to us the problem we have with understanding things that don’t relate to white culture. I didn’t write any notes but I did attend the speech so I will “quonnect” with what I remember him saying. One thing that stuck to me was when he explain American history in a nutshell I remember him saying “One rich white dude tells the poor white people that the colored man is guilty of the situation they are living” it was funny but also true because you can see thru history that this statement can be backed up, for example when the colonist were starving they blame the native American and almost killed them all. I can use this quote on the “race card project” when explaining why we still have racist issues in this century , its because the current struggle we have with our economy and the lack of jobs people are blaming certain races for stealing their
