Comparing Myself In Barney's Version And Duddy Kravitz

Being Yourself In Ink Writing to me is a license to connect myself and my intuition to my work. What I enjoy and dislike about writing, what I have been taught and what works for me, is the foundation for my development as a writer. I do not like to write in unnatural and concrete ways, I enjoy putting as much of myself into my writing as possible. Besides, who does not like to talk about themselves? In an overall aspect I am a simple writer, I write what I enjoy and enjoy what I write. However, I dislike how narrow my writing has been as it is almost exclusively for assignments based on critical responses and essay’s. This limitation makes me feel like I fall short creatively and would enjoy other types of writing. Furthermore, I have enjoyed essays on books such as Mordecai Richler's “Barney’s Version” and “Duddy Kravitz”, as I was able to connect with the characters very easily and this happens consistently with Mordecai’s work. Being able to connect with the characters makes me as a writer, much better and more concise with my work overall. Tone is by far one of the standout features for a writer as each person usually has a different one. I learned to use mine as more of a humourous type to make myself stand out and to let my work more enjoyable for the reader, as I am quite witty in person.
