Comparing My Moving To Canada

Improved Essays
I will always remember moving from the Philippines to Canada. I remember the time when my parents broke the news to me. We were out watching a movie and they were asking me all these questions about the kind of place I want to live in if ever we moved somewhere else. They asked me if I wanted to see and play with snow. I’ve always dreamt of being able to play in the snow, like the kids in the movies, so I told them why not? Winter in the movies look really cool and it would be fun to experience it. I had no clue that we were actually moving to another country. I was shocked and thrilled when I found out we were going to be living in a place that has snow! Little did I know that the once we see in movies are very different in real life.

We had a lot of preparing to do for the big move. I would say that it was probably one of the most hectic time of my life. We had to get our pictures taken, pack up our belongings, donate the other things we didn’t need and look for winter clothes. I didn’t really think about all the things that we were doing at the time because I couldn’t stop thinking of the snow and how much fun I was going to have to play in it. I wasn’t nervous about losing my friends

I can remember it clearly because we almost missed our flight. The plane was scheduled to leave at 8 pm. At around 6:30 we were still stuck in traffic and we were not near the airport. It was a good thing that we had a good taxi driver with us, he knew his way around the airport. The cab driver took a detour and found another way to get to the airport faster. Fortunately, there wasn’t as much traffic in the new route we took. As we were getting close to the airport, I noticed that my mom had started tearing up. I remember asking her why she was crying. I was only 10 at the time so I didn’t really understand why she was so emotional about us leaving the Philippines. We arrived at the airport on time, thanks to the cab
