During the ending fight, Hooch stays by Turner and actually fights with him giving him an advantage over the others. Another thing the dogs contribute to the movie is showing the audience how loyal dogs are, throughout both the movies both of the dogs are always with their owner no matter what was going on at that time. In my opinion, I preferred Marley and Me, however it may be because I remember when it came out and going to see it in theatre with my family. This could also be because of it being closer to my age, I found it easier to relate to with the family.
