Lord, De Vader, & Alliger (LDA) argued that Mann (1959) & Stogdill (1948) studies which reported that no traits consistently differentiated leaders from non-leaders across variety of situation have been misinterpreted by subsequent studies. Evidence provided include the fact that Mann actually used far fewer independent samples than reported, and the authors also found higher correlation than as reported by Mann.
