One way that plays are different from books is that in a play you can see what they are talking about so what you see is what you get. In a book you can imagine whatever you want. If a book says something like In the park, you can imagine a huge park with flowers and trees and kids running around. Your imagination is endless!! But in a play in they say something like In a park most likely you will see the park, the stage will be set up like a park. That park couldn’t be anything you wanted it to be, because it's right in front of you so there's nothing for you to imagine. There’s nothing for you to think about. There’s always a way to get a book. But if you want to go to a play you’d have to go find the play, find the date, get tickets, it would just be a lot of planning and what if the tickets are really expensive and you couldn’t afford them, well then you can’t go to the play. Also books are a lot more convenient because you can carry a book around and read it whenever you would like but you certainly couldn’t just pull out a play and start watching
