Leadership is a quality that enables an individual to thrive in a group setting, making rational decisions that have tangible consequences (Nahavandi, 2016). It means a bad leader can destabilize a well-performing team using ill-equipped techniques and strategies while an exceptional leader embraces challenges as a learning experience in the course of becoming an even better leader. Scar’s leadership style demonstrates that of a bad leader; specifically, a transitional leader. His kingdom is built on broken promises, lack of trust, and control. His only goal is to become more powerful, so he uses his own people to make him stronger. Scar is obsessed with keeping total power for himself and has no desire to help make others grow into great leaders. Sadly, this destroys organizations, which is shown after Pride Lands deteriorates because of Scar’s lack of concern for his kingdom and for his people. Scar can learn a lot learn from Jesus. In the beginning Simba illustrated hints of transactional leadership, even as a young prince. In one of his songs, Simba reiterates that he just cannot wait to be King, indicating that he was obsessed with having power and the benefits that come along with power. The young Simba fantasized about becoming the greatest leader in Pride Land, focusing on the material things that accumulate from being a leader, such as all-round service and food. On the other hand, Simba craved to be an empowering leader, illustrated by his imagination that a rightful king must show bravery and courage in the face of opponents. Furthermore, Simba demonstrated an acute sense of isolated leadership when he decided to escape Pride Land to preserve his convictions.
