One of them grew up in Ancient Rome, while the other grew up in a time of racial segregation and new beginnings. Even though they were born into two different times and lived under different circumstances, they were similar yet very different because they both felt the leaders had too much power and conspired to kill the powerful leaders. Marcus Junius Brutus the Younger was born June 85 B.C. in Philippi, Macedonia (now Greece) to Marcus Junius Brutus the Elder and Servilla Caepionis. In Cassius Dio's passage regarding Cleopatra, he begins by describing her as 'a woman of surpassing beauty' and 'most striking', proceeding on throughout the extract to compliment her in such a way, until the end in which he suggests that she is manipulative and scheming, for she used a guise as well as using her 'schemes' to get her into the city, as well as into the palace by night without the knowledge or notice of Ptolemy.
