Comparing Jack In Lord Of The Flies And Andreas From The Movie

Jack from Lord of the Flies and Andreas from the movie EDEN both went through personality changes due to their circumstances. Depending on the situation that a person finds themselves in their behaviour can change for good or for bad and for,with them is their way of coping with the situation. In Lord of the Flies Jack splits off from the main group and makes his own tribe on the other side of the island by Castle Rock, In EDEN Andreas also splits off from the main group in this movie. In Lord of the Flies Jack tells everyone “I’m not going to be a part of Ralph's lot”, in EDEN Andreas informed the group “ I´m going to the other island, You can come with or stay here” (Golding 127). Both Jack and Andreas show their dominance by leaving the group to start their own subgroup so that they can lead in the way …show more content…
Both Jack and Andreas started to change when they had to make a rash decision Jack having to kill an animal to eat and Andreas deciding to stop giving food and water to the injured. Both Jack from Lord of the Flies and Andreas from the movie EDEN both of these characters went through changes in their behavior and how they treated the others of their group. Jack went from a civilized choir boy to a leader of a savage hunting tribe, when Ralph goes to confront Jack “[he gazed up] at the green and black mask before him, trying to remember what Jack looked like”, Andreas on the other hand started out as a controlling person in the group, closer to the end of the movie Andreas starts to lose his mind and act like a completely different person to everyone.
