Comparing Herbert Hoover's Life And Work

I Herbert Hoover was born aug,10,1874 with two other siblings in a two-room, cottage built by my father in west branch iowa .When I was six my mother Lou passed away due to a heart attack and when I was 9 years old my father Jesse died .When I was 11, I was put on a train going westbound to live with my mom's brother. I had so little money that some times I lived in the barracks housing construction workers building a university. I went to Stanford University and I served as financial manager for Stanford’s football and baseball teams, I won election as treasurer, and met my future wife, Lou Henry, in geology class.

After I graduated from Stanford University in 1895 with a geology degree and I took an engineering job with the British mining company. I traveled the world locating lucrative mineral deposits, and by the age of 27, I had become one of the firm’s four partners. I left the company in 1908 and soon had profitable business interests on every continent except for Antarctica.

I made strong labor regulation laws, including the Bacon-Davis Act requiring a maximum eight-hour day on construction of public buildings receiving at least the minimum wage .I then canceled the private oil leases on the government lands.I required mail carriers to take stricter safety measures to improve their service.My wife created girl scouts. And there were many other things I and my wife did in my office.

At fifty eight I lost to Truman and went on to live the rest of my life I lived with my wife in New York , New York she died in 1944 due to a heart attack . At 90 I died in New York, New York due to a internal bleeding on Oct 20,1964 .I was buried in west branch Iowa in a spot overlooking my birth place.Over all i was an amazing president.My wife did many important things, I believe I had a wonderful life ,and spent my time
