Perhaps you have experienced a link to someone else that had been so intense it terrified you beyond pretty much all comprehension. A connection so powerful that you would surrender just about anything on the planet if they were happy. For Ashley thing's used to be simple. That had been until the day she had discovered the closest friendship she ever had, was much more than she had bargained for.…
Matt and Erin decided to go their local mall. Matt clumsy walked over to Erin's place, and they proceeded to walk to the mall. They continued to look in stores, but that got boring really fast. They later got kicked out from the mall for causing trouble, and they walked the parking lot behind the mall. Matt noticed something from his peripheral vision.…
In the story and play Monkey's Paw here are some differences and sames about it. In the story monkeys paw there was a military man that brought the paw to the family to explain the terrible story being the cursed paw but in the play it was the man's wife because something terrible happened to the her husband which was the man. In the story the man practically said that death may apply with the using of the paw and in the play the women just says she would rather them not use that paw. In both of the stories they both had that their son hubert died from getting sucked into the mill also they both had that was that there were 3 men that could wish 3 times and 2 men already wished and died and when Mr. White said his first wish he wished for 200…
It was dark outside and the sun had gone to bed. As she walked up the steps to her house she saw a strange figure loom out of the shadows. She quickly shoved the key in the door and turned the handle. But she was too slow. Soon there were cold, slippery fingers pulling her hair and her cloths and her shoulder.…
When most people hear the words outreach center, they seem to visualize a sad place where homeless people sit around asking for food and clothing. In today’s society many people struggle with poverty and reaching ends meet and have to turn to an outreach center for help. An outreach center provides a place where a community can come together, and helps families who struggle providing necessities for their loved ones. The Hallsville Outreach Center takes in families who struggle, and gives them a relaxed feeling, by lending a hand. When I stepped out of my car, a slight breeze blew against me.…
Atwood, Indiana I would not call this my favorite place, but since I do not actually have a favorite place, this is my only option. My great-grandma died on October third of 2012 (I remember death dates, and yes, I know that it is weird), but that day was oddly one of my favorites. Her name was Norma Jean Irwin, and she was so small and frail, yet stronger than a horse pulling a carriage. She grew up in Indiana, where the house is currently standing, and lived as a farm wife, which of course contributed to her strength.…
Would be at the end of the letter that Tiago furiously crumbled. “No police.” He shouted towards his workmen. “We do this our way.” He said looking over to Wilfred and Matilda.…
Mojos As I went to Mojos I choose to sit outside on the deck for a little while. The deck had three black, steel tables on it with four chairs at each table— which probably was not a smart idea to sit on since it was absolutely hot outside. When I sat down the uttermost elegant flowers caught my eyes . The flowers were vivid and vibrant, making them stand out from everything outdoors.…
Gothic literature can be classified by various characteristics. These characteristics can show up alone in some works, but when they appear simultaneously, the work can be determined as gothic. “Jane Eyre” (I would just italicize instead of “ but you do you) fully exhibits these common gothic elements; however, another work that incorporates many of these elements is “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” Although at first glance, it appears to simply be a fairytale, upon deeper inspection, there are certain elements tied into the plotline that, I believe, classify it as a gothic tale. “Jane Eyre” is a classic example of gothic literature.…

There’s a small town, Wicked Hollow, that seems perfect..almost. Every house is picture perfect, except the house on the end of Sarah’s street. The old abandon house with the tragic backstory that may or may not be true. The story of how a wealthy family was killed and how the killer was never found. Maybe the killer was that good at covering up his tracks or because maybe the killer wasn’t human and couldn’t be caught.…
The difference between a play and a story? Well, a play is something you watch and a story is something you read. The only thing is, what if they’re the same too? Setting is different, suspense is different, but maybe emotion is the same.…
The crispy grass of a summer afternoon over a silky picnic blanket. Mathew was there sitting and eating his favorite peanut and butter sandwich. What is better than eating his sandwich was his family together. Father was setting up a game of football while mother was trying to find that sunscreen that she has sworn to have put it in her utility bag earlier in the morning. Mathew’s older brother, Robert, cried out to his distressed mother, “Mom!…
As children, nature greatly intrigues us and gives us numerous experiences that life at home cannot. Experiencing nature allows children to deepen their connection with the environment that surrounds them and the secret wonders they might discover. In Sara Orne Jewett’s short story “A White Heron”, Sylvia, a child who spends much time in the story-like realm of the woods near her home, meets a charming hunter who is looking for the rare white heron. The hunt for the heron allows Sylvia to explore the woods deeply and climb the great pine tree of the forest. Before encountering the hunter, the woods near Sylvia’s home provided her an escape to a parallel universe where she could enjoy and observe nature’s many wonders.…
Reconciliation Interrupted by the faint sounds of birds chirping and grass swaying in the gentle breeze, the calming silence became a distant memory. As the birds flapped their wings, moving at the edge of the tiny meadow, from one tree to the next, they cast their shadows over the body of a small brown skinned, black haired girl. She lay on her back in the hilltop grass, facing directly up towards the almost blinding light of the afternoon sun. Her dark skin, holding a lively warm glow, reflected the rays of sunlight off of her quickly flickering eyelids. Suddenly, they were open, revealing her dark brown almond shaped eyes and her ever so slightly off white sclera.…
