Comparing 'Hatchet And Cry In The Wild'

Hatchet
I believe that Hatchet has done a better job at telling the story due to. It gave a greater number of detail in the story to support whoever reads the book to more competently understand the story. For, example when the moose attacked him it gave so much detail I could feel the pain, and torture he suffered, but in the movie it did not provide as much detail as the book. When the plane crashed I could just feel the water, and I could make out the green, and blue of the lake. In conclusion I believe that the book Hatchet does a better job at telling the story than the movie Cry In The Wild.

I believe that “A cry in the wild”does a better job than the novel Hatchet. I think this because A cry in the wild explains what happened way better than the novel Hatchet. For an example when the pilot had a heart attack the movie made it look like he was in very bad pain but in the novel Hatchet it didn't even sound like he was hurting. Also the movie uses way more foreshadowing and imagery. Like when Brian throws his hatchet across his shelter it made sparks.…

The different ends that both of these pieces contained really influence the concept of the story. In the novel, K. ends by being killed with a knife to the heart while in the film he is killed with dynamite in a little cave. This shows how the surrounding changes. In my point of view, the end of the novel seems more conventional because K. was fighting to defend his innocence the whole story, and that makes him seem like a hero. On the other hand, K. seems weaker in the end of the movie because he doesn’t do anything to safe himself.…

In the novel, Roy is portrayed as a tragic hero with many flaws that bring about his own downfall. In the movie, Roy is presented as a victim of circumstances through unexpected events that push him off track of his goals. Because of the many discrepancies, the personality and the actions of characters in the novel tend to contradict the traits acquired from the book. Although these two forms of obtaining knowledge are significantly different, they both consist of similar plots that portray moral lessons to a completely different…

I thought HATCHET did a better job at foreshadowing because it actually gave you a clue of what was going to happen. In a “Cry in the Wild” I really didn’t understand what was going to happen until it happened. On the other hand,I thought since it was a movie “a Cry in the Wild” had better imagery but just by a little bit because Hatchet had a bunch of descriptive words. All in all, I thought hatchet had a better compound of foreshadowing and imagery than “a Cry in the…

There are some differences between what the movie talks about and what the book talks about of the story “The Freedom Writers.” Me personally i think that the movie is better because i am seeing it with my own eyes. I can visually understand it. Personally i like to watch movies better than reading books so that might be why i like the movie more. I don’t really have patience for reading a book, i’d rather watch a movie, it’s more interesting to me.…

Ironically due to the storyline; the book is better than the movie, because it is shows better description, character analysis, and it gets the point across to the reader to show what leads up to the main idea. While, the movie it is more vague and fast paced so it's hard to comprehend the storyline. The book is more illustrative than the movie. For example, the…

Despite being written twenty years apart, these two novels have many similarities. Both novels are presented through first person narration and have a reflective story-telling quality to them. Both novels seamlessly shift from past and present throughout the narrative. In both novels, the narrator addresses the reader. One example of this arising in Never Let Me Go is the various times that Kathy says: “I don’t know how it was where you were” (13).…

Heart of Darkness and Things Fall Apart shows the apparent ways that Joseph Conrad and Chinua Achebe differ in ways of presenting Africa in the colonization era. Conrad and Achebe books shows the difference between an Afrocentric and Eurocentric viewpoint. Joseph Conrad’s depictions of the Africans as savages an in a very racist undertone causes Chinua Achebe to write Things Fall Apart through the viewpoint of the natives of different tribes to show Africans, not as uncivilized savages, but as members of a very hierarchy society that is not too much different from the Europeans. One way Conrad’s views about Europeans to make the look as if they were higher beings to the African tribes was in his description of Marlow.…
