Comparing Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone

In the literature world, there are many books written and then movies being created following right after a book. One might hope for both the book and the movie to be similar in terms of its storyline and its characters. However, movie directors are all about releasing a movie that appeals to viewers by making it more realistic and adventurous than the book. It is more likely for young readers to prefer the movie version than the book because it contains actions which all kids would want to see. In the book and movie Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, there were numerous amount of differences that were noticeable. In the book, the Dursley’s were described by having Mr. Dursley waking up and getting ready for work and later seeing a cat reading and recognizing people talking about Harry Potter. Then later in the book, Harry got dropped off at the front of the Dursley’s steps. In the movie, it starts off with Dumbledore, Professor McGonagall, and Hagrid dropping off Harry right away at the steps of the Dursley’s. Moreover, the odd day in the movie with the Dursley’s starts off by seeing weird things like owls outside and having letters from Hogwarts for Harry who is ten years older. Differences can also be spotted during the scene at the zoo. In the book, Dudley brought his friend, Piers, to the zoo for his birthday.
