Walt Disney children’s movies and stories are all with happy endings, where everything ends how the main character wants it to be. They are appropriate for children and are not violent or sexual. In the Grimm Brother’s stories they are not children friendly at all and are even known for being violent and sexual. They are also similar is certain ways as well, like they both teach the reader good lessons and sexism is also very president. Grimm Brother’s and Disney definitely have in common is sexism. Disney’s acts of sexism are definitely not as violent as Grimm Brother’s, but Disney’s sexism is prevalent throughout all of their movies …show more content…
In the original the stepsisters of Cinderella try to cut off different parts of their feet to make them fit into the glass slipper. Sounds more like a horror movie then a children book. In the Disney version the stepsisters could not fit into the glass slipper just because they simply had bigger feet. Another difference in the original Grimm Brother’s story is that the Prince is alerted of the stepsisters coming by two pigeons who then end up pecking out the stepsisters’ eyes. The stepsisters end up living as blind beggars for the rest of their lives. Which is ironic because in the Disney story they are seen as wealthy, snobby girls who wouldn’t dare beg for money or food. They would have made Cinderella do that if it was even an issue for them, due to their high
