I love your choice in film because this too, is one of my all-time favorite films. Your post is very informative. I enjoyed learning things about the film and its director that I didn’t know before. For example, I had no idea about the other amazing films the director Louis Leterrier directed, The Incredible Hulk is another one of my favorites. Your analyzation of the parts of the film was spot on I think the dénouement is also at the point where the agent is in fact the one behind everything and blows everyone’s mind audience and characters within the film itself. I truly enjoyed and was thrilled to learn the director’s context for creation of the movie. I think this made it more personal for him and allowed the film to flourish with his

Where as I normally end up arguing against why a film should be considered a horror film, this time I'm going other way and argue why Lightning Bug is a Horror film. As I stated in Horror, My Definition, a Horror film is a film that used dread and horror, while trying to evoke negative emotions. Lightning Bug does that for me, upon first viewing I wasn't that impressed and disregarded is horror elements. Instead focusing on how its a Coming of Age Drama. But after viewing the film never really settled and has passed through my mind on several occasions and when I reflect on the film it's dark and haunting undertones that remain.…

Favela: in Brazil, an urban slum or ghetto; illegal squatter settlement. This is how the film Favela Rising begins. It begins by describing what a favela is, which I am glad it does because this is a term that I have never heard of before. This film discusses what life is like in Brazil and goes through different slums in Brazil. It was made to inform and show people what the slums were like in Brazil and to give the audience a glimpse of what life is like for them.…

    Krisha Movie Analysis

The caustically bitter, micro-budget feature “Krisha” is a serious candidate to the best drama of the year. Cleverly engendered by Trey Edward Shults, who also plays himself in the film, this genuinely disturbing story is 100% fictional but feels immensely realistic, and the reasons for that can be easily explained. Thus, his real mother, Robyn Fairchild, played his aunt in the film, while his real aunt, Krisha Fairchild, became an unexpected star as she plays his frustrated mother who attempts to reconnect with her estranged son while recovering from drug and alcohol addiction.…

The first time I watched this, I was with my roommate who absolutely loves this movie. This time when I watched it, I could see the story from a whole different angle.…
