Comparing Fahrenheit 451 And Ralph In Lord Of The Flies

Montag from F451 and Ralph from the lord of the flies have a lot of things in common, but are very different at the same time. Montag lives in a futuristic society, where people burn books. While Ralph is on a stranded island because, their plane crashed and takes place in the past. We’ll look at Montag’s choices, Ralph’s choices, and their similarities. Here are some of the similarities and differences Montag and Ralph have.

Let’s get started off with Montag. He is a unique character and is different from Ralph. The first difference is that Montag decided to be a follower and did what Faber told him to do. As the text from F451 states on page 91 that Faber placed a green bullet in Montag's ear and told him that he will give him things to say or do. The second choice Montag made is that he burnt and killed Captain Beatty. As the text on page 119 describes how Montag burns and kills Beatty. The last choice Montag made is that he made his decisions to gain knowledge and read books. He wanted to read books so he started stealing books. The text on page

The first choice or difference is that Ralph was leader of the group. As the text from lord of the flies states that Ralph is the athletic older kid that was elected as the leader at the beginning of the book. The second choice is that Ralph was running away from the tribe to avoid being burned to death at the end of the novel. As the text from page 199 describes how Ralph was trying to escape the fire and the tribe. The last choice Ralph made that was different from Montag is that he made his decisions for safety because, he wanted to be safe until people came to rescue them. The text states that Ralph ordered some people to build shelter for protection, and sent people to go hunt for food. It made Jack mad because, he wasn’t chosen as the leader, they weren’t agreeing and that led to Jack and his group trying to attack Ralph at the end of the
