Erikson’s Stages and Me Until two years ago I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I had many options I was interested in, such as becoming a chef or being a lawyer. However, I could never actually see myself in that career. The only thing I had ever done was go to school. I had only been surrounded by teachers and students, so I thought maybe I could be a teacher. I couldn’t think of a subject I was passionate about, until I heard about family consumer sciences. Looking back, many aspects of my childhood have lead me to deciding to become a teacher. When I was younger, my mother made all of my Halloween costumes by hand. I loved to watch her work with the sewing machine and fabric. My sewing skills advanced when I joined Girl Scouts.
