Miss. Marple is a quiet, more reserved and can be slightly insecure, whereas Sherlock is arrogant and knows his knowledge. However, they both share one key characteristic — observation. Although these two characters were vastly different in their personalities, they both were able to use their intellect for the greater good. With this being said, there are several types people in the world and no-one is alike but, despite these difference, people can accomplish good. Both of these characters used their qualities to better their sleuthing skills, so therefore they could solve a mystery no-one else could. If people, like these two detectives, realize their strengths they can use them for good eventually furthering society.
