As for relationship between family and society, it did not help too much when it comes to family ties. Society should have presented perfect families, instead it presented us with dysfunctional ones. Individuals, such as nurses in hospital where Lady Spenta gave birth to Ormus, or nannies they had to look after their children, should have said something about the way they treated their children. Those people were representations of society in the novel, and they did nothing.
