In Keith’s 26 bouts Porter will be the first top 10 ranked fighter that he’s faced. According to Ring Magazine they have Thurman ranked #5 and Porter #6 . Does this imply Keith has been fighting bums? Absolutely not, Keith has fought whomever they have thrown his way and since his debut on HBO he’s been calling out all the top Welterweights but no one nor any other promotor obliged. So, this isn’t a matter of a fighter being brought up through the rankings carefully and protected, it’s about a fighter who was a threat and was being rejected.…

The similarities aren’t clear to see in the short stories, “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? and A Good Man is Hard to Find”, but if you look closely you can see multiple; one being that the main characters are both female, selfish, self-absorbed and conceited. This selfishness is shown by the grandmother; in A Good Man is Hard to Find, when she takes her cat on vacation, callously saying “because he would miss her too much and she was afraid he might brush against one of the gas burners and accidentally asphyxiate himself” (O’Connor 1097) cats are independent animals and its doubtful the cat would even know she was gone, but the reality is is that would miss the cat. Comparative to the grandmother, Connie in “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?” demonstrates her selfishness by snubbing her families’ barbeque “rolling her eyes to let her mother know just what she thought of it” (Oates 2129).…

One cultural similarity between Big (1998) and modern day movies is how kids want to be older and mature faster. Often the actors who are cast as teenagers and children are at least 5 years older than the characters they play. This influences kids who think they should be more like these actors to dress and act more maturely, wear more makeup, etc. In Big, all Joshua wants is to be older. He’s tired of being treated as a child by his family and the kids at school.…

The Other Wes was a product of his environment because of where he was raised and because of the people he looked up to. Wes Moor was different from The Other Wes because he grew up living off of people’s expectations of him. The purpose of the book is to show that life is what you make it, it’s up to you if you want to be successful or a drug dealer.…
