Themes
Admittedly, one the themes that came from Neale and Saville (2004) research paper was that the prison-based treatment service is making efforts to provide a wide-range of options for inmates, which changes the perception of prison-based treatment programs. Furthermore, MacMaster, Holleran and Chaffin (2005) provides the second theme of that adolescents need a substance abuse prevention program that actually changes their perspectives on drugs. Both of the articles provide a theme of early substance use prevention program that offers a wide-range of services prevents substance abuse from occurring.

The criminal justice system needs to consider programs that they can offer for individuals who are released out prison. Lastly, community-based treatment/prevention programs need to evaluate on what parts of the programs are effective and implement it on a large scale. The impressions that I gathered was that the in order to understand why individuals are having a difficult time after being released from prison to stop their substance
