Harris, Coates and Gee are somewhat very similar because they all states how things in the world are different and how the differences in the world ‘shape” what we all see in our eyes. It adds to coates point of, to become a writer there are steps, ways and even struggles that you have to pass through and even that it takes sometime to gather everything in your control to better and improve yourself and your skills in writing. After meeting with many other reformers, I have come to the conclusion that I am most similar to T.S. Arthur. When I met with him I learned he was a temperance activist. Similarly, I fight for the prohibition of liquor. We were both raised in religious families that educated us on the dangers of drinking. Another topic we discussed was how we both accomplished writing a book.…

A lot of terms were defined that I may have had the definitions a little bit off before reading this. While reading about the functional uses of religion, I could not help but to go back to the time I spent in Africa. I was there for a month and spent a majority of my time in a Monastery and worked alongside the Sisters in that Convent. I could really tell that the Sisters were held together by their religion. It gave them something in life.…

In a world where there are 4200 globally recognized religions, creating a universal definition of religion must be a difficult task. I associate religion with a feeling of comfort and fellowship. I define religion as a set of beliefs corresponding to a religious routine. Although people might take different approaches to the same set of beliefs, I wouldn’t consider someone an active follower without a somewhat frequent acknowledgment of their religion. Naturally, my definition isn’t perfect.…

Religion is the belief in and worship of a superhuman being controlling power, especially a personal God or gods. But, sometimes these conventions don’t exactly assure the person’s wants or needs. In my life so far I’ve been exposed to various religions. My encounters have granted me the privilege to learn and understand each religion independently. What puzzled me the most was coming across a religion that wasn’t identified as a “religion” by a believer. In this chapter of Religion Pluralism, I wish to challenge those who are Christians to first take a step back and reanalyze the definition of religion. In order to obtain a more concise and understanding of religions and their values, I believe that redefining religion in itself would be necessary.…

He even goes so far to say that our worldview is what defines the world religion. When I, for example, think of “religion” as a whole, I think of bending on your knees praying, worshiping a sacred text, and a big God in the sky that has a long white beard and a white robe. I also tend to see religion and the religious as sheep who follow others simply because they promise salvation, without agency to make…
