Cinderell The German And France Cinderella Story

To begin with the German and France Cinderella story have similarities in a young girl who loses her mother and gain a stepmother and stepsister. Once the stepmother and her daughters moved in the stepmother and stepsister’s mistreated Cinderella and didn’t allow her to do anything. Not allowing her to go with them to special occasions.
In the German story of Cinderella, Cinderella does not have a godmother. In the France story Cinderella has a godmother and goes to the ball. In German she does not have a ball she has a festival. In France her godmother tells her “be but a good girl, and I will contrive that you shall go.” If she will be a good girl the godmother will make a way for her to go to the festival. In German Cinderella went to her mother’s grave beneath the hazel tree, and cried out: Shake and quiver, little tree, throw gold and silver down at me. When she goes to her mother’s grave she makes a wish by the hazel tree so that it will come true. Then the birds threw a gold and silver dress to her. She went three times the third time she was running to get home and left her shoe. This is similar to France Cinderella when her godmother gave her a beautiful dress for the ball. She went in a pumpkin and her godmother made it into a carriage. And she made her mice horses, her rat is a coachman, her lizards was a footman, and she got a beautiful dress after midnight it would all go back to the way it was before. Another similarity between the stories they both danced with the prince. Once the prince had the shoe he let everyone in town try the shoe on to find his true love. In German the prince went to Cinderella home and her stepsisters tried it on but it did not fit them so one cut of her toe and the other cut off her heel. The two pigeons call out that they had blood in the slipper and said their not the right one. Then he went back and asked if it was anybody else and the father said Cinderella but he doubt it was her. The prince insisted that he should try anyway. The Cinderella came down and tried it on.
