I know people have probably heard of Cheech and Chong, well if someone has not they are two guys that were in movies in the 1970’s and 1980’s. They were seen as hippies in their movies with really laid back personalities. They also share a love for cannabis which is evident in their movies where I can see them smoking a joint. Richard “ Cheech” Marin and Tommy Chong met in Vancouver, British Columbia. Chong was a citizen of Canada And Cheech moved there from california to get away from the draft of the vietnam war. Cheech has appeared in many films by being the voice in the films Oliver & Company, The Lion King, the Cars series and Beverly Hills Chihuahua. While Chong Has appeared in the famous canadian show Trailer Park Boys Out of the park: USA. Where one of the main characters Ricky tries to out smoke Anthony Stoner Aka Tommy Chong.
Tommy had somewhat of a rough childhood his Father was wounded in world war 2 which made it difficult for his father to make money. The movie grossed over 44 million dollars. The movie was about Cheech and Chong unknowingly smuggling marijuana from Mexico to L.A. with a van made entirely of marijuana. They also starred in Cheech and Chong's next movie. The movie is about Cheech having to deal with losing his job. Their movies are a big hit from people who think that Marijuana should be legal and to people who just want to have a good laugh and watch a movie or stand up comedy. The plot of up in smoke is for Anthony to either get a job by sundown or go to military school.
