Brutus sided with the conspirators early in the play, at first he was not really into it, then he is pushing forward the plan to kill Caesar. Marc Antony is a dear friend to Caesar and will do anything to get revenge on the conspirators. To start off with, the position of the speaker is very important. Brutus stands above the crowd (scene 2, line 13) and Marc Antony is among the crowd (scene 2 line 74). The different positions among the crowd states the atmosphere of the speech. The crowd’s reactions were very much similar in the fact that they were ready to carry him home or do exactly what they say like kill someone.(scene 2, lines 79 and 205) The emotions of the speech are also very similar with confident yet arrogant speeches each saying that they will save or have saved the Roman empire.(scene 2 lines 27 and 101) Another similarity of speeches were double meaning of words.
