Comparing Beethoven And Mozart's Allegro

Improved Essays
Beethoven and Mozart: both masters of their generation’s music and often portrayed as the building blocks of what music is today. Each made significant movements under the genre of classical but are both known for their unique executions of duets. Both Beethoven’s Allegro comodo and Mozart’s Allegro demonstrate each of their technical abilities yet are completely different in the way each piece is executed. Beethoven’s Comodo demonstrates his focus on both parts, in which they both share advanced elements of dynamics, phrasing, and technical abilities. Mozart on the other hand, shines the figurative light only on his principle while the counterpart complements and fills in the whitespaces. In Beethoven’s Allegro Comodo, Beethoven demonstrates

Although Beethoven’s Fifth and Sixth symphonies sound very different, they both originated during the same time period and are closely related in many ways. In the first movement of the Fifth and Sixth symphonies, the relationships between the two can already be identified. While their similarities reveal the new ideas that Beethoven wanted to use in his symphonies at the time, their differences reveal the different paths that Beethoven chose for each symphony. Though the first movements of the Fifth and Sixth symphonies are similar in their use of meters and fermatas, the movements of the two symphonies differ in their topics, harmonic ranges, and endings.…

From the the tempo to key and even the title, it is pretty obvious that Beethoven was trying to achieve a major contrast between the two movements. Though my knowledge of Italian is fading, I remember that Scherzo means, ‘to play’ and the piece is rather playful. The piece begins with a homophonic texture, that is well complimented both by its major key and it’s fast and lively tempo. For the most part, it seems as though the melody is carried by the flutes and the piccolos. As a whole, the piece is rather bouncy and quite staccato, but the meter is rather difficult to pick up.…

There are few composers as all known as Beethoven. The themes of his compositions surround our lives. Simplified, they are some of the first songs we learn as children, and yet in their fullness, are inescapably complex and thought-provoking. They have influenced our technological culture as well; in 1931, Beethoven’s 5th symphony was produced on the first commercial 33 1/3 r.p.m. LP, and later, the first-generation of compact disks were designed to have a duration of 75 minutes - the perfect length to record his 9th Symphony on.…

His music begins to break away from the current style; it becomes “big, brawny,” “loud, pounding music” (Beethoven 's three periods, 2010). He strains “the very limits of the musical instruments of his time” (Beethoven 's three periods, 2010). Beethoven 's Late Period “music becomes more inward and searching” (Beethoven 's three periods, 2010). His music is no longer bound by “the formal constraints of the time” and he begins to try out new ways to express himself through music (Beethoven 's three periods,…

The hours put into this song by the OCU symphony must have been many by how well they played this particular piece. It was beautiful how the song started very slow but soon picked up speed. It also incorporated flutes, which seemed like the leader for the crescendo. The violins and basses followed the lead of the flute to create fuller, dramatic sounds in Beethoven’s piece. This song came across as a joyous piece to me, and the symphony did a wonderful job of taking this musical work and playing it like it was theirs.…
