Then this paper will progress in comparing two well-known plays of Shakespeare; The first play will be the most popular, and or well known amongst most individuals reading this paper; with it tittle reading as “Romeo and Juliet”. Romeo and Juliet is a story about two teenagers from two different families’ that hold the majority share of power within Verona Italy. Of course will two families’ that share a lot of power there are bound to have some troubles and disagreements. Following the story this disagreement between the families had been going on for decades before the two teenagers were born. The Montagues and copulates start the play off with their servants fighting each other due the feud between both families. Romeo belongs to the Montagues, while Juliet was affair to copulates. As the play progress, the Montagues host this giant ball for the whole town to attend. Romeo analyses the guest and he sees Juliet from the opposite family and instantly falls in love. The same could be said for Juliet as well because of her instant love for Romeo. Further in the play, it becomes apparent that Romeo and Juliet can’t be together because of their families fight over a long period of time. Subsequently they continue to see each other secretly because of the burning sensation of love that they have for each other in their hearts. Towards the end the love between them both becomes more apparent and they end up killing themselves. Obviously there is more to the play but, for the sake of my prompt a summary should do just …show more content…
To start off Romeo and Juliet were in love at first sight in their play, while on the other hand Caitlin and Patricio had to build on their love. Next, both Romeo and Juliet die alongside with a handful of other people in their play. While in taming of the shrew doesn’t display in causalities. In taming of the shrew, the play starts off as a trick on the audience that was meant to capture their attention before the first protagonist was introduced. The most important difference in both plays is that Romeo and Juliet never used the same person for a different character. In taming of the shrew one character especially switches roles, for example Lacentrio and tranio trade places and is played by the same

One of those being that both plays include something to do with love and relationships. Caesar was involved with more than one woman in Julius Caesar, and that included Calpurnia and Cleopatra. Although that play did not revolve around love as much, it was still evident in the play. The Taming of the Shrew on the other hand revolved around the arranged marriage of the girls. Different relationships included Katherine and Petruchio, Lucentio and Bianca, and Hortensio and his widow.…

The tragic drama, Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, begins by describing how two lovers, Romeo and Juliet, will meet and eventually kill themselves, ending the ancient feud between their two families. Romeo is characterized as an impulsive lover, as shown when he discloses his unrequited love for Rosaline, only to ask himself if he had ever fallen in love, when he catches a glimpse of Juliet. Juliet is introduced as a dutiful young lady, but towards the end of the act, we see her more immature side when she wants to marry Romeo. Through Act 1, Shakespeare portrays how an individual may have to choose between duty and desire, and the importance of maturity in love.…

The relationships are healthier in the movie and end up proving to show more compromise between the girls and guys than in the actual play. Another contrast between the two is that Lucentio is a lot more confident in his ability to charm women than Cameron is, and Cameron almost even gives up towards the end. Most people would be able to realize how modern the plot really is, even though it was written almost 500 years ago. This is because teenagers can relate quite easily to trying to impress someone they want to date, or even just the matter of dating in general. The characters in Taming of a Shrew and “Ten Things I Hate About You” seem very familiar in the fact that we all know someone who is preppy, opinionated, overconfident, shady, or even…

Two texts can seem so similar on the surface but could end up being quite different as you explore their depths. This is shown through the contrast in William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and Taylor Swift’s Love Story by the use of literary devices and their vastly different structures to express the theme of love. In Romeo and Juliet, imagery was used far more to convey the love that the protagonists felt for each other while in Taylor Swift’s Love Story, repetition was more commonly employed. “It’s a love story, baby just say ‘YES’”…

They both express feminine independence by using the tradition dating standards and the choice to embrace them like Bianca or completley reject them like Kat. The only difference is that in The Taming of the Shrew it is not dating, it is mariagge that is being pressured. Mariagge is shown as something they obsessed over whereas dating is expressed as the perfect teenage peer pressure example.…

In Shakespear’s and Franco Zeffirelli’s Romeo and Juliet, there are many similarities, but there are also many different substantial differences that can change the impression the viewer may get if they only watch the movie without reading the play. To begin, there are many similarities between Zeffirelli 's and Shakespeare 's Romeo and Juliet. One similarity is that Romeo is very moody; in the beginning of the movie, Romeo can be seen frequently slumped over and talking in a very downcast manner. Similarly, in the play, Romeo is found by Benvolio laying moping around saying, “Should without eyes see pathways to his will!” (I.i.162).…

William Shakespeare published “Romeo and Juliet” in 1597, a play of two lovers from rival houses who overcome hate to find love, only to have fate guide them to their deaths. Shakespeare bestowed upon the world a play with lively characters, and Juliet of the Capulets is a complex character who defies the typical stereotype of women during the Elizabethan era. Shakespeare developed Juliet to be an individual who is beautiful, intelligent, defiant, and yet masculine. By doing so, Shakespeare created a character that is significant to the tragic play of “Romeo and Juliet” because it shows the audience how a young and naïve girl will transition into a woman that defies the typical behavior of a woman only to achieve her happily ever after ending…
