Comparing Ambition In She's The Man And Twelfth Night

Although both tales tell the same story, they have two important differences, character roles/motives and ambition represented in different ways. They are also similar in a way, both clearly show that love causes pain. These two romances have the same plot, but different situations. She’s the Man is developed in a modern situation with soccer being the trigger of the problem, while Twelfth Night was established in Elizabethan times and it was a shipwreck that generated the whole story. In the movie She’s the Man we can see Viola changing to be her brother because she wants to prove a point. After a bad break up, she decides to go to the school her brother Sebastian was transferred to and pretend to be him, since he was in London and hadn’t met anyone there yet. In the movie we perceive that ambition leads to a lot more problems than planned.
