Comparing Allman's Learning Styles And Their Personality Types

Just as each person has a their own unique personality, there are diverse learning styles that are more suited to various personalities. Learning styles are different methods that instructors can use to enable people to learn and absorb knowledge so retention remains highest. Both of these are important aspects of a business minded individual and each person should know what their personality type is and what learning style suits them the best. In this paper we shall examine three learning styles and two personality types. The personality types examined today were pioneered by Myers-Briggs inventory type. The personality types under examination are extrovert and thinking. The learning styles are visual learning, kinesthetic learning, and auditory learning.

They receive energy from the outside world and are constantly around others to charge themselves and energize. Moreover, they can easily feel lonely by themselves and prefer to be the center of attention. Allman (n.d.) mentions how they are excellent teachers and leaders as they feel comfortable being in control and subsequently, flourish in management positions.
The opposite of extroverts are introverts who are comfortable with themselves and seem to recharge from within and find peace. Introverts are not as comfortable being the center of attention. Thinkers are more logical in the way they look at life. Accordingly, they deduce and analyze to help in decision making and choices (Allman, n.d.). Thinkers of course, like meditating and contemplating about topics for a sense of accomplishment and external gain as they are calculating. They are the opposite of feelers who only learn if they want to internally and have a tendency to listen to their feelings more than their thoughts (Allman, n.d.). Learning

The four learning styles represented by the VARK system are; Visual, Audible, Read/Written, and Kinesthetic.
