Comparing Aimee Mullan And Bethany Hamilton

a teen surfer who changed the way people look at things and an inspiring athlete who inspired thousands of children like her to do greater things and believe in themselves. They did a whole lot of change by not having all their limbs. This surfer, Bethany Hamilton, lost her left arm due to a shark attack while surfing and Aimee Mullan, the athlete, lost her two legs due to a bone disease that forced her legs to be removed. Aimee Mullan and Bethany Hamilton are different because they lost their limbs at a different age, however, they both pursued their dreams which are significant because it inspired thousands of kids and even some adults to always believe and don’t let anything stop them. This is an important detail because this affected the way they overcame their adversity because the mindsets of both of them would be dramatically different because they are so many years apart. Bethany Hamilton lost her arm when she was 13 due to a shark attack. The way this affected her was very traumatic as she probably thought she was going to live her whole life wishing she could go back but, she did learn to cope with it and train with the help of her family to surf again. Aimee Mullan lost her legs as early of the age of one due to a bone disease. Since Aimee mainly grew up with no legs she most likely didn’t miss her legs but wondered what it would feel like and probably had a hard time being around other kids at first. The way Aimee coped with this is by being open minded about her legs and mainly looking at the bright side of things. She even looked for people that could help her build better and stronger legs for sports.
