Comparing Aging Into Adulthood

The definition of “adult” will vary depending on who is being asked. Some people believe that adulthood and childhood are very different, and maybe they are. But there may not be as much differences between the two as people believe. Adults are simply older version of their childhood selves but with more experiences and responsibilities to deal with. It is said that aging is mandatory, but growing up is a choice. This adage implies that although people age and mature, it’s still possible to enjoy many things once enjoyed as a child. Aging does not change an individual’s preferences of a favorite television show or a favorite food; however, maturing can, and sometimes do. But whether or not one matures is largely a matter of choice. It’s appears to be true that aging into adulthood and maturing into adulthood are completely different things. All of theses things require that one take on additional responsibilities. The act of taking on more responsibility make most people behave more responsibly and can lead them to seek out friends and associates who displays this same level of responsibility. But again, this is a choice rather than a natural condition of aging. Once a person has settled into the ‘mature’ lifestyle, it can become easy to view himself or herself as a responsible adult. Those with a lot of responsibilities under their belt are considered mature; so hence, maturity and responsibility equals an adult. But even these particularly mature adults don’t have to completely let go of their childhood selves. There’s no reason why someone like a big CEO, or even the President of the United States can’t indulge in some of the same fun they did as children. Of course, they must now be more responsible about
