Compare Two Jobs

Written Comparison When offered a job, that would last exactly 15 days, no more or no less, with two payment options, it is important to take a step back and examine both routes. The first payment option would be to receive $1,000 each of the 15 days, while the second payment option would be to receive $1 the first day and each day after that your payment would double from the previous day. Now, without looking further into the option anyone would clearly choose the first payment option, because you start out making a lot more than just $1. I personally believe if I am working my time, let alone my entire day, would be much more valuable than just measley $1. However that may not be the smartest payment method to choose. If you skip to day five of the job and look at the chart I provided to you, anyone could easily see that at day five using the first payment method you have made an accumulated amount of $5,000, while with the second payment method you only made $31 in five days. With that being said $5,000 is a much more ample amount of money to be making than just $31 dollars for five days of your precious time. In fact, you would be making a little more than $4,900 more than the second payment method after the short period of five days. …show more content…
With the second method, at this point of time, you would be making around $20 more than 1/10 of the amount of money you would be making with the first payment option. That translates to only 10% of what someone who chose the first payment method would be making in day 10. The person standing right next to you doing the exact same job as you has accumulated 10 times more of the mount of money you have accumulated in an equal amount of time! That does not sound fair at all to

“Me, the Other Scott, and Payday Loans” is an article written by Scott Gilmore. It argues that the payday loan interest rate for every one hundred dollars borrowed is unreasonable. This topic is very controversial due to the stereotype that comes along with individuals who require a loan. In my opinion, the fact that there is “a correlation between the number of payday lenders in a neighbourhood and premature morality” is an indication of a concerning issue. Also, in today’s society multiple individuals struggle to make ends meet; therefore, forcing them to resort to payday loans.…

    Betting Vs Bookies

When you gamble online, you are betting against a bookie. They produce odds that show how much you will be paid if you win. These odds are manipulated to ensure the bookie cannot lose, and they may even use the odds to affect which bets you place, since unlike investing, you have a choice on how much you place on each bet. When you invest, you do not have a choice of how much a share costs, though you do have a choice around how many of them you buy. When you buy shares, you are not putting your money against a bookie, which is a point in your favor.…
