I agree with everything you said, especially what you said about treating patients with respect and empathy. Medical assistant's are the face before the patient's see the doctor so they have to set a very professional, respectful tone. It's a great amount of patient's that comes in that has a different cultural background, but it's up to the medical assistant to understand that and be patient. It's very degrading when a patient is only treated like a number, because people are spending there hard earned money for a medical service, and to come in and be treated like your just a number is very disrespectful, and I'm sure that if one person is treated like that then majority of the patients thats coming in is getting treated that way.
