I am an international student from China. There are plenty of things I studied from both China and Canada. Compare the differences in education systems and circumstance, I learned different things between those two countries. When I grew up to school age, my parents took me to school in China. I have studied in China until high school. The population of Chinese student is large, but the number of higher education institution is limited. So that there are strong competition for Chinese students. In Chinese schools, the evaluation criterion of grades just focus on exams for all courses. And each question has only one right answer. If you study hard normally but you does not get high scores in the final exams, then you are not considered to be a good student. I always see my classmates complain too much stress in study. Some of them even cheating for getting high scores. I am not smart, therefore I need to do much more questions to get good grades in the exams. I am familiar to do questions and can get good grades on exams. However, sometimes I did not …show more content…
When I came to Canada, my English was terrible. I know I have to make a transition in language which cannot learning in school. Before I came to Canada, I am already learn some English in China, but never use it in life. I feel there is a big challenge for me to live here with my bad English. This situation not only in life, but also in school. I have more difficulties than local students in studies. Sometimes I cannot answer questions just because I do not understand the meaning they asked. As a second language, I always make mistakes when I speak English. I did not know how to express what I intend to say. The good thing is making mistakes impressed me and let me understand what is wrong, therefore I can do better next time and improve my English faster than I was in China. Although my English still not as good as local people, I will keep going to improve
