Compare/Contrast

Driving a car and riding a bus may seem similar at times but in reality, they are very different. Owning a car is much different from simply buying a bus pass each day. There are certain benefits that each provides over the other. Although driving a car and riding a bus may get a person to the same destination, they are different in the ways of comfort, cost, and privacy. One of the biggest differences that people will mention is that being in a car is considerably more comfortable than riding on a bus. A tremendous participant in this is the comfort that a car seat provides that one cannot get from a seat on a bus. The seats in a car are able to be adjusted which allows a person to be at a comfortable angle and height, a contentment that a bus seat does not provide. Not to mention, people can adjust the temperature of the car until they are at ease. This way they can be assured that they are not going to be overheated nor will they be at a colder temperature. One last comfort that is immense is the fact that one does not have to alter their schedule to fit in with the schedule of the bus. The costs that come along with owning and driving a car can quickly add up to be more than one can afford. Typically, a bus ticket can get a person to their destination and then back home, all with the one time payment. Some buses even offer year plans to regular bus riders. A car can have many mishaps such as breaking down, having a light burn out, getting a ticket, and getting into a wreck. All of these can be costly and are definitely not easy payments on a budget. Also, when riding a bus, a person is not affected by the cost of gas. Someone who is driving their own car has to fill up the tank which can also add up to be more than one can
