In this picture, we see that the artist combined small pictures to create this image of the coke bottle. Most of the celebrities are from older or classic times. Its motto is “a classic never goes out of style” which ties in every celebrity because even though they were known in the past many people still know them. The ad uses Breakfast at Tiffany’s, The Beatles, The American Flag, The Rolling Stones, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, Baseball, Apple Pie, a Cadillac, and the famous kiss after World War II. All of these pictures can be characterized as “American classics” and also stating that Coca-Cola is also an American classic. They try and make it seem like the drink is a classic because all the greats, like Elvis, Audrey Hepburn, and Marilyn Monroe, drank it. Also the contrast with the background allows the red to stand out and also using the colors of Coke. Red is also an American color that is seen on the American flag as well it is a very vibrant color that always pops out.
The use of the celebrities is both targeting older and younger audiences. Those from older times understand and have lived thru many celebrities and through times they have still become well know. They use nostalgia to attract the target the older audience bringing back the old days and their memories.
