On May 10th, 1915 the president at the time, Woodrow Wilson, gave a speech about welcoming new members into American society. Welcoming new members into American society is an issue still to this day, allowing people to still have strong views on the topic. Nowadays some people have views on accepting people into American society, ways that are different from Woodrow Wilson. One person who has different views is the current US President Donald Trump. Wilson believes that immigrants should come to America for a better life and leave their nationality behind to become American. Meanwhile, Mr. Trump believes that immigrants should be heavily vetted and we should only accept immigrants who are going to make America a better place, as a definite. However, both Wilson and Trump, share views, for example, they both think that we should help the American people specifically. In general both leaders views have ways in which they are similar, and ways in which they differ.
