Compare And Contrast Water And Sports Drinks

Water and sports drinks are both good choices to remain hydrated during excercise. Proper hydration is one of the biggest concerns, considering the human body loses plenty of water that needs to be replaced. The body uses water to regulate body temperature, transport oxygen and nutrients and dispose of wastes. Lack of nutrients and water causes the body to become dehydrated. Dehydration leads to dizziness, cramps and fatigue and at an even more serious level such as heat stroke and heat exhaustion. The bottom line of the matter is that both options are great. However, which one to go with depends on how long the workout and the level of intensity.

A good sports drink such as gatorade contains electrolytes and carbohydrates. Carbohydrates
