A story of two boys convicted of murder, and why one should be released. Former Navy SEALS Dustin Turner and Billy Joe Brown was convicted of murder in 1995. Twenty-one-year-old Jennifer Evens followed Turner to his car, a drunken Brown met with them shortly after. Before long, the murder of Jennifer took place, a murder Dustin Turner had no part in. Before Turner could stop him, Brown snapped the young woman’s neck. Scared and confused, Brown forced Turner to continue driving, help in burying her then return to their Navy base. Eight days after the incident police investigators came to talk to the two boys. Turner told the truth while Brown lied that him and Turner planned the murder, and raped the woman. Nothing added up yet the court believed the lies and sentenced Turner to eighty-five years and Brown to seventy-five years. Both men have served twenty-one years so far.

Jennifer Evans could have been your daughter, niece, aunt, even best friend that you will never get back. Most people would think of this situation in “what if she was my…” kind of way. The people who think of the situation like so, wants Turner and Brown to suffer for what they did.
Turner has already served too much time for just being a witness. He was charged with the charges of murder, rape, and abduction of Evans. While Brown was only charged with murder and rape even though he was the one to commit the crime. Turner was just at the wrong place wrong time which costed him his career.
Dustin Turner was convicted of murder along with his best friend Billy Joe Brown. Turner did not commit any crime, he was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. He never lied, always telling the truth. He served too much time for being only a witness. Some people think he was in the wrong and believe you should rot in jail.
